Serviced Apartments Chongqing
Looking to stay with us for more than 30 nights
Not to be confused with the Chongqing municipality that is made up of the main Chongqing city, Wanzhou and Qianjiang districts, the inland municipality of Chongqing City is one of China’s most populated. As a result, there is hardly a dull moment in this city.
At first impression, Chongqing City exudes a vibe of a frontier town. Steely and with tenacity as tough as nails, the city is one of the fastest booming metropolises in the world. But that’s not its only draw. Its history dates as far back as the ancient Ba Kingdom in 316 BC.
The landscape harkens back to that ancient splendour as the city sprawls across both banks of the Yangtze River, frequently interrupted by mountains and highlands. It is no surprise Chongqing City has earned itself the nickname “Mountain City.”
Central Chongqing lies on the eastern edge of Sichuan Basin, where the Yangtze River meets the Jialing River. The city itself is located in a big valley, framed by two tributary mountain ranges. With many bridges across the Yangtze River and Jialing River to link the city up with its neighbours, Chongqing City is also affectionately known as “China's Capital of Bridges.”
Somerset JieFangBei Chongqing is located in the heart of it all. A modern residence conveniently located on Minzu Road, just off the bustling Jiefangbei, the city’s Central Business District lies a stone’s throw away. For some culture and entertainment, take a stroll down Linjiang Road to visit Chongqing’s Art Gallery or further down Minzu Road towards the historical Lohan and Arhat temples.
Gastronomy aficionados will be glad to know that a smattering of restaurants and bakeries line the streets surrounding the Somerset residence. Chongqing's food is a hybrid of Sichuan cuisine and local specialty dishes such as dumplings, mouth-numbingly-spicy hotpot and pickled anything. Visit Zhangji Wanton King on Minzu Road, Holiland bakery in Jiangjia Alley and grab some braised chicken on Jiuchikan Street.
