Somerset Shinagawa Tokyo
Looking to stay with us for more than 30 nights
Shinagawa’s history dates back to the eighth century, when the area once served the Japanese as a post station. Thanks to its centralised location in the heart of Tokyo, Shinagawa was a transit point for goods and people - a role that is reflected in its name, which translates to ‘Goods River’ in Japanese.
Today, Shinagawa retains its importance in the trade industry, while expanding its repertoire to include embassies, multinational companies and international banks. It has cemented itself as one of Tokyo’s main commercial and business districts, with the ward boasting of the highest concentration of hotels in its vicinity.
